Marine insurance policies for two Philadelphia sailing vessels. The Hetty and the Sally, travelling between Philadelphia and the West Indies. The policies are issued by the Delaware Insurance Company and the Marine Insurance Company of Philadelphia. The policies are worth £ 200 (pounds) and £ 450 and covers coffee and other cargo. Étienne Dutilh was born to Pierre and Marie Dutilh in Marsac (also known as Clairac), France in 1732. During the 1770s, Dutilh established himself as a merchant in London and Rotterdam before immigrating to Philadelphia in 1783.
